What setting should my TV be on for a soundbar? ›

The setting you need is called 'Output Device' and you can find it in the audio menu of your television. In this menu, select External Speakers. Your television will now transmit all audio to the soundbar.

Auto VA. SETUP > Auto VA > Use the Next/Previous buttons to toggle between connecting the sound bar to a Voice Assistant through Bluetooth (BT), AUX, Both, or OFF.

Option 1: HDMI connection using the eARC/ARC feature

On the back of your TV, find the HDMI IN jack (A) labeled eARC/ARC. On the back of your Soundbar, find the HDMI OUT jack (C) labeled eARC/ARC. Connect both jacks with the HDMI cable (B). Note: To use the eARC feature, an ethernet-compatible HDMI cable is required.

Jump into your TV's SYSTEM settings and switch on CEC and ARC functions. In the CEC settings, pick 'Device Discovery' to buddy up your Soundbar with your TV.

You are able to enjoy wireless streaming via Chromecast and Airplay from your devices. This will also give you the opportunity to do multi-room playback.

If you're still having trouble pairing, try unplugging both devices and then plugging them back in. Once they're powered up again, try to pair them. If they still won't pair, you may need to reset them. You can find reset instructions in your Soundbar's manual or quick start guide (available here).

Make sure the Soundbar is correctly plugged into the TV using the right cables (HDMI or Optical cable). To be sure, you can try to unplug and replug the HDMI or Optical cable again. Verify if the HDMI cable is connected to the HDMI port labelled ARC (Audio Return Channel) on the TV and the Soundbar.

Why is my Vizio Soundbar out of sync with my TV? ›

Many VIZIO TVs come with a cool feature called 'Lip Sync' which helps make sure the sound is perfectly timed with the picture. You can find this feature in your TV's settings. Just look for the 'Audio' option in the menu, and you'll be on your way to a more synchronized viewing experience.

Use the remote that came with your soundbar to adjust the bass, equalizer and surround sound settings. To cycle through the equalizer modes on your soundbar, press the EQ button on your remote. You can choose between Movie, Music, or Dialogue to match the sound experience you want.

If your TV has an HDMI input that supports "Audio Return Channel" (ARC) then the Sound Bar will be turned on and off when your turn the TV on and off. Also, the volume of the sound bar will be controlled via the TV volume control. The HDMI input on your TV will be labeled HDMI (ARC).
